Interdisciplinary Discoveries. Kurdish Studies in the Context of Social Sciences and Humanities

The event brought together the editors of the three periodical journals on Kurdish studies published in Europe (Kurdish Studies, Études Kurdes and Wiener Jahrbuch für Kurdische Studien) to discuss the developments in the field and its publication history. Lectures provided insights into new trends in Kurdish Studies (Martin van Bruinessen), Kurdish linguistics (Salih Akin) and music (Salah Ammo). A panel discussion was dedicated to the topic of flight, migration and social peace. The event emphasised the central importance of research infrastructure (in this specific case, publication series) for the development of the discipline.
